Dr. Nathan Doyel graduated from OHSU dental school in 1997 with honors. He has been honored as a “Top Dentist” in Oregon for many years and is the founder of Deserving Smile, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reconstructing entire smiles for deserving individuals. He has been an innovator with the “Trial Smile”, a technique developed for full mouth reconstruction to ensure ideal results.
Dr. Doyel is a Fellow with the AAID and Diplomate with the ABOI/ID which symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. He is also a leader in the 3D CAD/CAM dentistry and enjoys mentoring other dentists and sharing his knowledge with them. In addition to lecturing and in order to facilitate his passion for dental education, he is the founder of Dental Surgical Camps and hosts several camps for other doctors to attend throughout the year.
Dr Doyel also has extensive training in sinus lifts, bone augmentation, bone expansion & grafts, guided surgery, periodontics, periodontal therapy, gum grafts, and laser therapy. He specializes in other areas of general dentistry as well including endodontics or root canal therapy, full mouth reconstruction as he calls “New Smile in a Day”, and sleep apnea oral appliance therapy. New Smiles Dental office also offers three types of sedation dentistry including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation to make patients feel at ease during their appointment.

Dr. Doyel and his wife, Polly, have 5 children and two grandchildren. They often work together and feel it is a privilege to share their love of dentistry together. You can find Dr. Doyel playing games or traveling with his family, performing in choirs and community musicals, working out, reading, writing, golfing, teaching or taking dental courses. Dr. Doyel enjoys being active in his church and community. He served a 2-year mission in Chicago for his church working with the deaf, 6 years training missionaries, and 3 years teaching early morning seminary to teenagers. Dr. Doyel has participated within his community by coaching baseball and track and helping with the Boy Scouts of America. He has also served on the YMCA board, as a member of the Sherwood Rotary Club and Sherwood Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Aanderud grew up in the Portland Metro area and has been practicing dentistry as a general dentist since 1999. Immediately following his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, Dr. Aanderud served a 2-year mission in Argentina and speaks Spanish fluently. He then went on to study dentistry at Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School graduating with honors.
After completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with the U.S. Army, Dr. Aanderud served in Kuwait as a general dentist and Captain. In June of 2001, he left active duty to join New Smiles Dental.
Dr. Aanderud has received the “Oregon’s Top Dentists” Award several years in a row and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, the Washington County Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Aanderud is also a Fellow with the American Association of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He loves dentistry and is dedicated to serving his patients with skill, comfort, and friendliness.
He is the past President of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce and continues to be an active member on the Board. He enjoys being involved in his community and church. This is one of the reasons he and his wife, Kim, chose to live and raise their 5 children in Sherwood. His hobbies are golfing, reading, going to movies and spending time with his family. He and Dr. Doyel and Dr. Aanderud have also participated in the Hood To Coast relay for many years with their team.
Dr. Evan Whisenant is a general dentist and grew up in Beaverton, Oregon. He completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University during which time he took 2 years off to complete missionary service in Orlando, FL working primarily with the Haitian creole speaking community. After college he completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at Roseman University in South Jordan, UT. He enjoys working on cars, skiing with his wife, and has a growing collection of sneakers. His Wife Renee recently began attending Dental Hygiene school.
Dr. Aaron Wikle enjoys being a dentist. Dentistry has been a part of his life for many years. Since graduating from the University of Louisville in 2011, he has expanded his appreciation and understanding of dentistry as well as the importance of personally connecting with the patients and communicating with them in having their dental needs met. Dr. Wikle feels it an honor to be helping others with their desired dental treatment and wants all of his patients to know the care and concern he truly has for them.

Dr. Wikle is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Washington County Dental Society and is always continuing his education to be able to provide the best care for his patients.
Dr. Wikle grew up in a big family in Wilsonville and went to West Linn High School. He went on a church mission, attended Brigham Young University and then went to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. After owning a dental practice in Lake Oswego, he decided to make a change and move to Sherwood to be able to work with an amazing group here at New Smiles. He is thrilled to be back working at New Smiles because of his deep love and appreciation for their amazing team and the integrity and high quality dentistry they provide. They take care of their patients and go above and beyond with these efforts.
Dr. Wikle has enjoyed seeing Sherwood and the surrounding areas grow as he thinks back to the time, as a teenager, when he drove all the way out to Sherwood from his home town of Wilsonville, to get his Drivers License. As a father now, he appreciates the great qualities the city of Sherwood has, and enjoys living here with his family and being part of the community. He and his wife are thrilled with the environment they get to raise their 3 children in.
