Dr. Doyel has specialized training in implant dentistry. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is board-certified in implant dentistry as a Diplomate with the American Board of Oral Implantology and Implant Dentistry, now recognized as the only specialty certification of dental implants in Oregon. As a national leader in implant dentistry and 3D CAD/CAM dentistry, Dr. Doyel founded Dental Surgical Camps and lectures on implant surgery throughout the United States.
Dr. Doyel trains doctors in guided implant surgery, sinus lifts, bone augmentation, and grafts, platelet-rich fibrin techniques, gum grafts, laser therapy, and digital dentistry. Dr. Doyel has advanced training in wisdom teeth extractions, IV sedation, full mouth reconstruction, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. He has a wonderful wife, Polly, five adult children, and a growing number of grandchildren.
Dr. Doyel is a Fellow with the AAID and Diplomate with the ABOI/ID which symbolizes the highest level of competence in implant dentistry. He is also a leader in the 3D CAD/CAM dentistry and enjoys mentoring other dentists and sharing his knowledge with them. In addition to lecturing and in order to facilitate his passion for dental education, he is the founder of Dental Surgical Camps and hosts several camps for other doctors to attend throughout the year.
Dr Doyel also has extensive training in sinus lifts, bone augmentation, bone expansion & grafts, guided surgery, periodontics, periodontal therapy, gum grafts, and laser therapy. He specializes in other areas of general dentistry as well including endodontics or root canal therapy, full mouth reconstruction as he calls “New Smile in a Day”, and sleep apnea oral appliance therapy. New Smiles Dental office also offers three types of sedation dentistry including nitrous oxide, oral sedation, and IV sedation to make patients feel at ease during their appointment.

Dr. Doyel and his wife, Polly, have 5 adult children and a growing number of grandchildren. They often work together and feel it is a privilege to share their love of dentistry together. You can find Dr. Doyel playing games or traveling with his family, performing in choirs and community musicals, working out, reading, writing, golfing, teaching or taking dental courses. Dr. Doyel enjoys being active in his church and community. He served a 2-year mission in Chicago for his church working with the deaf, 6 years training missionaries, and 3 years teaching early morning seminary to teenagers. Dr. Doyel has participated within his community by coaching baseball and track and helping with the Boy Scouts of America. He has also served on the YMCA board, as a member of the Sherwood Rotary Club and Sherwood Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Aanderud grew up in the Portland Metro area and has been practicing dentistry as a general dentist since 1999. Immediately following his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University, Dr. Aanderud served a 2-year mission in Argentina and speaks Spanish fluently. He then went on to study dentistry at Oregon Health Sciences University Dental School graduating with honors.
After completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program with the U.S. Army, Dr. Aanderud served in Kuwait as a general dentist and Captain. In June of 2001, he left active duty to join New Smiles Dental.
Dr. Aanderud has received the “Oregon’s Top Dentists” Award several years in a row and is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, the Washington County Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Aanderud is also a Fellow with the American Association of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He loves dentistry and is dedicated to serving his patients with skill, comfort, and friendliness.
He is the past President of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce and continues to be an active member on the Board. He enjoys being involved in his community and church. This is one of the reasons he and his wife, Kim, chose to live and raise their 5 children in Sherwood. His hobbies are golfing, reading, going to movies and spending time with his family. He and Dr. Doyel and Dr. Aanderud have also participated in the Hood To Coast relay for many years with their team.
Dr. Trevor Martin, DMD, is a dedicated general dentist who combines clinical precision with compassionate care. A proud Oregon native, he earned his undergraduate degree from Portland State University and completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Martin is committed to staying at the forefront of modern dentistry through ongoing education and advanced training. He is a certified Bioclear provider and is currently completing a fellowship in restorative dentistry—allowing him to offer esthetic, minimally invasive treatments that improve both oral health and patient confidence.

Dr. Martin stays active on the basketball and pickle ball courts, and he’s always up for a round of golf. He has a playlist for everything and enjoys traveling. Dr. Martin spends the bulk of his vacation time doing trips overseas to underserved communities. He is excited to be part of the Sherwood community and looks forward to helping patients of all ages enjoy a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Dr. Aaron Wikle enjoys being a dentist. Dentistry has been a part of his life for many years. Since graduating from the University of Louisville in 2011, he has expanded his appreciation and understanding of dentistry as well as the importance of personally connecting with the patients and communicating with them in having their dental needs met. Dr. Wikle feels it an honor to be helping others with their desired dental treatment and wants all of his patients to know the care and concern he truly has for them.

Dr. Wikle is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and the Washington County Dental Society and is always continuing his education to be able to provide the best care for his patients.
Dr. Wikle grew up in a big family in Wilsonville and went to West Linn High School. He went on a church mission, attended Brigham Young University and then went to the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. After owning a dental practice in Lake Oswego, he decided to make a change and move to Sherwood to be able to work with an amazing group here at New Smiles. He is thrilled to be back working at New Smiles because of his deep love and appreciation for their amazing team and the integrity and high quality dentistry they provide. They take care of their patients and go above and beyond with these efforts.
Dr. Wikle has enjoyed seeing Sherwood and the surrounding areas grow as he thinks back to the time, as a teenager, when he drove all the way out to Sherwood from his home town of Wilsonville, to get his Drivers License. As a father now, he appreciates the great qualities the city of Sherwood has, and enjoys living here with his family and being part of the community. He and his wife are thrilled with the environment they get to raise their 3 children in.
We feel fortunate and excited to have Rebecca be part of the New Smiles Team. She is detail oriented and will greet you with warmth and friendliness each time you visit us. Rebecca is married to the love of her life and is a busy mom of 6 children. She enjoys meeting new people and helping people with disabilities. She enjoys spending time in the outdoors, playing and watching sports and listening to all types of music.
Ursula is one of our wonderful treatment coordinators and has been with New Smiles for many years. She has a wealth of knowledge and will treat you with care and compassion while helping you with your treatment needs. Ursula enjoys cooking, running and spending time with friends and family.
Melissa is one of our fabulous treatment coordinators and serves our patients with empathy and thoroughness. She has many years of dental experience and will thoughtfully guide you in making complex dental decisions. She and her husband live in Sherwood and enjoy spending time with their two sons. Melissa loves her family, friends and traveling and is always up for a girls night out.
Carolina has been in the dental world since 2018 and is a kind and wonderful part of the New Smiles Team. She is bilingual in Spanish and English and loves genuinely helping patients in overseeing their treatment plans. Her sense of humor and caring personality put our patients at ease. Born and raised in Portland, she enjoys camping and fishing with her family.
Barb is one of our outstanding Hygienists providing compassionate and gentle care at New Smiles since 2012. She attended Mt Hood Community College Dental Hygiene Program and was born and raised in this beautiful state. She enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and two wonderful boys.
Jasmine graduated from Pacific University’s Dental Health Science Program and has been a Dental Hygienist since 2009. She loves her profession and her patients and helping them have a healthy, beautiful smile. Jasmine and her husband enjoy quality family time and creating memorable experiences with their children like fishing, crabbing, swimming and being at the coast. Jasmine has a positive outlook on life and as an added bonus, is bilingual in Spanish and English.
Laurie is one of our outstanding Dental Hygienists. She started with us back in 2004 as our Practice Administrator and Dental Hygienist. She took some time away to raise her son and also taught at Pacific University as a Clinical Dental Hygiene Instructor for 7 years. Laurie enjoys spending time with her son Kellen and enjoys outdoor activities including running, cycling, paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking, camping, and traveling.
Laurie takes special care of our wonderful patients and is passionate about caring for them as well as educating them, thus helping them create and maintain the smile they’ve always wanted.
Charity graduated from Pacific University’s Dental Health Science Program in 2022. She loves working again alongside her father, Dr. Doyel, and with her New Smiles family, where she started as a sterilization technician and then became our hygiene schedule coordinator before finishing her degree. Charity loved growing up in the Sherwood community and is excited to serve everyone here. You will appreciate her kindness, enthusiasm and attention to detail as she cleans your teeth. When she’s not at work, she enjoys spending time outside with her husband, daughter and dog, traveling, road tripping, playing Pokémon and creating new adventures. She is also bilingual in Spanish and English.
Jacie is an Oregon native and actually grew up in Sherwood. She is one of Dr. Whisenant’s fabulous assistants and has been in the dental field since 2018. She loves meeting new people, learning new things and is always helping others out. In her free time, you’ll find Jacie enjoying the outdoors, hiking and kayaking with her husband, family, friends and sweet Corgi dog, Weston.
Randi is a dedicated dental hygienist, providing compassionate, high-quality oral care in an easy-going, positive manner. She graduated from Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and informed, guiding them toward healthier smiles with tailored care plans and commitment to ongoing dental wellness. Outside of the clinic, Randi enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys running and dancing to music as well as traveling outside the US or going camping in their 1971 VW bus. Randi is also dedicated to being involved in the community and volunteers locally and internationally in community health initiatives. New Smiles is fortunate to have her on the team!
Karie is one of our outstanding hygienists. New Smiles has enjoyed Karie’s cheerful smile since 2006. You will appreciate her gentle touch and expert dental skills. Along with being a voracious reader, she and her husband take pleasure in their two daughters and exploring the beautiful Oregon outdoors.
Vikki is a fabulous part of the New Smiles team and we feel lucky to have her as one of our wonderful dental assistants. She has over 35 years of experience in the dental field and her personable, friendly and gentle nature help to make each of our patients feel comfortable. In her free time she enjoys cooking and entertaining with her husband of over 30 years and her two grown children. Vikki loves her 110lb chocolate lab “Rocco” and is always on the hunt for a new recipe or a good book to read.
Jen is one of Dr. Doyel and Dr. Aanderud’s assistants. She really enjoys getting to know the patients in the office and becoming friends. “I really want them to have a comfortable enjoyable time while they are with us. I’m not the biggest fan of being a patient in the dental chair and feel very empathetic and try and give the best patient care possible.” Jen loves seeing how dentistry has changed over the years and how technology has made dentistry better.
She loves to be challenged and to continue learning. Jen has been an assistant for over 20 years and loves living and working in Sherwood. She is married with two kids & a yellow lab. As a family they enjoy traveling, being in the outdoors, rooting on their favorite teams, and spending time with extended family.
Fabi loves to help people and is Dr. Whisenant’s wonderful assistant. She has been in the dental field since 2015 and is bilingual in Spanish and English. Fabi has been in the dental field for several years and loves to help people. She is married with three wonderful children. During her free time she likes to be outdoors either gardening or with her children. She also enjoys cooking a variety of dishes but especially desserts. Fabi is a sweet addition to our New Smiles family.
Shelley assists Dr. Aanderud. From the beginning, Shelley has been with New Smiles and is a beloved member of the family. She will treat you with the care and kindness that will make you feel comfortable and like one of the family. She and her husband love being outdoors with their family and puppy and enjoy being parents to two adorable, active children. She is a wonderful part of the team.
Julieanna has been in the dental field for many years and loves helping people. She feels the best part of her job is bringing smiles and comfort to her patients which is why she and Dr. Wikle make such a great team. Outside of New Smiles, Julieanna enjoys CrossFit, hiking, paddle boarding and making memories with her 3 kids.
Rachel has been a dental assistant since 2006 and truly helps patients feel comfortable and cared for while receiving treatment. She enjoys making connections with the patients and seeing their excitement as they receive the smile they have always dreamed of. Rachel is married, has two grown children, one granddaughter and four little dogs. Being raised in Oregon has given her a great love of the outdoors. Outside the office you will often find her camping, boating, fishing and spending time with her family and friends. She is an outstanding assistant for Dr. Doyel and valued member of the New Smiles Team.
Nicky was born & raised in the Portland area and has years of professional cleaning experience. With a passion for dentistry, she channels her energy into advancing her professional journey within the dental field, striving for order, efficiency and excellence. She is also a dedicated and industrious single mother of two vibrant young girls, navigating the balance between family, career, and personal pursuits with grace and determination. Beyond the office, Nicky finds solace and joy in the outdoors and actively engages in her daughters’ extracurricular pursuits. In the tranquil moments at home, Nicky enjoys the companionship of her witty and affectionate kitty, MissStash, and indulges her penchant for true crime narratives, spine-tingling thrillers, and culinary delights. Nicky embodies resilience and a steadfast commitment to her work, her loved ones and personal aspirations.
Perla is one of Dr. Wikle’s fabulous dental assistants. Having been born and raised in Sherwood gave her the opportunity to be a patient of New Smiles since she was a little girl. She loved her visits to the dentist so much that she decided to become an assistant. Perla graduated from the dental assisting program at Portland Community College and is a great asset to the New Smiles team as she is bilingual in Spanish and English and loves to help and comfort patients and help them achieve their dental dreams. Outside the office, Perla enjoys playing soccer and spending time with her family and friends.
Stephanie cares deeply about the patient’s comfort and care and continues to educate herself. She has been in the dental field since 1997 but took some time to raise her children at home. Her many roles in dentistry include working as a Dental Assistant, New Patient Care Coordinator, Sterilization Technician and Hygiene Assistant. She has a special ability to connect with those she works with and has a heart for the less fortunate. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family, hiking, playing tennis, board games, crafts and is involved in her church. Shanon enjoys working with our patients here at New Smiles in scheduling their treatment. She started working in the dental field at age 18 and loves how dentistry is constantly changing and improving. She and her husband moved here from Reno to be near their son who plays football for OSU. Their other son serves us proudly in the Army. Shanon loves the coast, the rain, fishing and camping and spending what ever times she can with her man and her boys.
Maya is our amazing and valuable Hygiene Assistant. She keeps our team running smoothly and the dental treatment areas in tip-top shape. She was born and raised in Los Angeles County, California and is so happy to live in Oregon. Maya graduated a year ahead of her classmates and even gave her high school graduation speech. She gained valuable experience as a Pharmacy Technician and Nursing Assistant before transitioning into dentistry. Patients love her can-do, upbeat attitude. Maya’s favorite things to do are reading, writing, dancing, and going on adventures with her husband-to-be.
